On 18th October 2011 I was cycling to work at Salford Quays about lunchtime when i came off crossing the tram lines. I quickly realised I'd broken something in my arm so i sat on the pavement & rang Mary (fortunately she wasnt working or out for the day).
I told her what had happened and that i needed taking to A&E, she said "but i havent had my lunch yet"
I said Im sure something was broken, so she came to collect me. Having put the bike in the car we headed for Hope hospital (which fortunately is over the road from our house). I passed out on the way and woke to find the car reversing onto our drive. "No, i need to go to A&E!".
Mary said, "are you sure? A cuppa & some paracetamol you will be fine."
"NO! I need A&E"
"OK, let me get my sandwich first" she said.

Once we got triaged at Hope & Mary saw the state of my shoulder she agreed something was broken.
