“[Jesus Christ is] the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in [him], though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in [him] shall never die.” (John 11:25-26)

For I know that my Redeemer lives,
and at the last he will stand upon the earth.
And after my skin has been thus destroyed,
yet in my flesh I shall see God
(Job 19:25-26)

“Now there is great gain in godliness with contentment, for we brought nothing into the world, and we cannot take anything out of the world.” (1 Timothy 6:6-7)

“Naked I came from my mother's womb, and naked shall I return. The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord.” (Job 1:21)

PRAY — “O Lord God, our loving heavenly father, we are gathered here today on this sad occasion to pay our last respects to our beloved sister in Christ, Mary. We pray that you will comfort those who are grieving, in the sure and certain hope that those who depart from this world, trusting in the Lord Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of their sins, are with you today in paradise. We thank you for the Lord Jesus Christ who is the resurrection and the life, and that whoever believes in him shall not perish but enjoy everlasting life. Amen.”

Jesus said: “Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me. In my Father's house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also.” (John 14:1-3)

Christ has been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep. For as by a man came death, by a man has come also the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ shall all be made alive. But each in his own order: Christ the firstfruits, then at his coming those who belong to Christ. Then comes the end, when he delivers the kingdom to God the Father after destroying every rule and every authority and power. For he must reign until he has put all his enemies under his feet. The last enemy to be destroyed is death. (1 Cor 15:20-26)

For as much as it has pleased Almighty God to take out of this world the soul of our sister in Christ, Mary, we therefore commit her body to the ground, earth to earth, ashes to ashes, dust to dust, looking for that blessed hope when the Lord Himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God, and the dead in Christ shall rise first. Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Comfort one another with these words.

Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times in every way. The Lord be with you all.

Amen.
